Carbon is made up of a team of talented interns who aspire to work in the fashion journalism industry. We pride ourselves on giving these amazing young people a platform to launch their careers and build a portfolio of published work while gaining valuable knowledge about fashion journalism. Positions:
Carbon Blog & Magazine Columnist: We are always looking for potential talent to contribute to our online blog and magazine issues. As one of our columnists you will write a once weekly post for the blog and submit at least one article per magazine issue through the duration of your internship. Columnists must be strong writers, have a passion for fashion and an ability to work independently. Internship is unpaid and will run on a four month contract. Carbon Blog & Magazine Photographer: (New Position!) We would love to start featuring aspiring photographers as regular interns for Carbon. This position would consist of creating original photo creative for a weekly blog column and submitting an editorial spread for each magazine issue that deadlines through the duration of your internship. You may also be asked to create other photographs that are needed for the Editor-in-Chief. Photography interns must have a love for fashion photography and must have an interest in the fashion industry as a whole. You must own your own camera and editing equipment. Internship is unpaid and will run on a four month contract. We are willing to work with universities to provide school credit. Account & Outreach Intern: Account portion- We’re looking for enthusiastic interns to place advertisements in our magazine issues. This job is ideal for a current college student or a recent grad that’s looking to make a little extra cash while learning about marketing in the fashion industry. Job duties will include; distributing our digital media kits to potential advertisers, following up with emails and communicating with the Founder on a daily basis with progress. You will be working remotely, so good communication skills and excellent time-management skills are absolutely essential. Outreach portion- We’re looking for someone to focus on helping Carbon expand! The Outreach Editor will be looking for blogs/websites with similar demographics to become one of our partners. Your duties will include emailing prospective websites to let them know that we’d like to link out to them on a consistent basis, staying in contact with our Linked to Fashion columnist to let her know to include these partners and sending weekly emails to our partners with a list of our top blog posts for the week. You will be working remotely on your own schedule, so good communication and time-management skills are extremely important. This job is paid by commission only and will run on a four month contract.
