Linked to Fashion: Frugal Fashionistas

In the fashion world, its easy to get caught up in “brands” and the most expensive top notch products. I do think that that world is something to aspire to, but for 20-somethings who can’t afford Balenciaga and YSL, we have to find fashion at an affordable price.

According to Life2PointOh, “even world leaders love a bargain.” I think there’s a time and a place for big name brands. If you want to splurge on the perfect sunglasses, pair of pumps, or jeans then go for the splurge. Acquire basic pieces that you will wear for a very long time. When purchasing current styles and trends go for the cheaper version.

In the Life2PointOh article they state that Michelle Obama was found shopping at Target in Virginia. Target is an incredible one-stop-shop. If you’re in need of groceries, beauty products, or clothing you can find it all at Target. The nice thing is that they have really great styles there; most recently Missoni for Target. I love that they started spot lighting different designers. I think it’s an incredible outlet for style on a dime.

Across the pond Kate Middleton was found shopping at her local TopShop. I am all for TopShop. Unfortunately, there is not one in my area, and some of their items still tend to be a bit on the pricey side. I like to visit my local Forever 21 and H&M for my trendy buys, but isn’t it nice to know that Duchess Kate still shops at TopShop despite her status? I like to think so!
