Designer Spotlight: pebbyforevee

One of the most dreaded weeks of college living arrives; Finals week. Amongst the empty Starbucks cups, note-cards and baggy eyes, a lack of sleep means no beauty rest. Sure, finals week isn’t the time to be worried about your curls staying tight and your leather leggings looking fantastic with your blazer, but it’s no time to throw on your ratty old volleyball sweatpants either. Pebby of pebbyforevee creates incredibly comfortable, cute clothes. What could be better than looking casually put together and feeling like your watching a “Say Yes to the Dress” marathon in your most comfortable clothes. Pebby’s designs are perfect for college living and come in a beautiful array of tees and well constructed sweatshirts.

The Interview

CM: Where and when did your company get started?

P: I started making shirts last year when my husband got stationed in Ft. Carson, Colorado. In between trying to find a job I took to my creative side to take up the time spent at home. My first shirt was sold just within a few hours of being listed & I knew I hit
the jackpot.

CM: What is the inspiration behind your product?

P: My inspiration comes from wanting to look stylish & feel good about myself at the same time. For me, that means being comfortable & not stuffing myself into a shirt that I feel I need to hide in. My shirts are meant to to show the less-than-obvious assets women have: our neck & shoulders. It’s a very sensual area that most women have
no insecurities about & allows us to feel sexy at the same time.

CM: What makes your brand stand out from companies that make a similar product?

P: I make most items by hand, so every shirt is a little different that the next. No two products are exactly the same.

CM: What is your favorite spring trend?

P: I am having a minor obsession with the chevron & tribal look right now. Most of my shirts available now have some sort of Aztec-inspired design on them.

CM: If you could see your product on a celebrity, who would it be?

P: I would love for any celebrity to wear something of mine! But my fashion icon would have to be Nicole Richie. Her style is the perfect match of just-threw-this-together while looking completed. I have one model who is dating a famous singer that has agreed to wear my shirts. I am ecstatic, naturally!

CM: Do you have a favorite piece you’ve ever designed?

P: My favorite shirt is the off-shoulder-t shirt that has “just want to put you in my front pocket” placed on the pocket. It was one of my first shirts I made & is still being ordered!

CM: How do you keep up-to-date with the latest trends?

P: I don’t watch much TV but I have a pinterest account, where ideas run wild! I even have an album on my phone entitled “what to wear” when I am wanting to switch up my wardrobe that have ideas from pinterest in it.

CM: How would you describe your city’s style?

P: Colorado has an eclectic taste. It’s definitely a Military town, with several bases located just within miles of each other. A lot of artists live here too, so it ranges from Military Wear to hipster.

CM: What advice do you have for aspiring designers?

P: If you are like me & always wanting things you can’t find- take matters into your own hands & make them.

“Chances are there are many people out there looking for it too & just don’t know where to get it.”

Product Review

I received my pebbyforevee off the shoulder, bow accented sweatshirt and immediately threw it on for class. It was so soft and received a ton of compliments, contrary to my school spirit hoodie i had worn the day before. Why sacrifice cuteness for comfort if you can have both? With finals week coming up, i’ll be living in the library with books, green tea, and my PFE sweatshirt in tow!
