Avon’s Foundation for Women raises awareness and funding for the fight against women’s violence and abuse. The foundation’s most recent project is the Empowerment Circle of Support Necklace. Although this necklace debuted earlier in March, the necklace continues to raise money for this cause and is just as relevant today as it was when it was first introduced. According to Avon, one in three women will experience violence in their lives. The symbol of the necklace challenges this statistic. The Empowerment Necklace features the infinity symbol, which, within Avon’s campaign, represents the unlimited potential to live and provide lives free of violence.

There are several aspects of this necklace campaign that are worth noting. The first being that 100% of profits are donated to Avon’s programs dedicated to fighting violence against women. The second thing that stands out about this campaign is how affordable it is. Each necklace is only $5. Don’t have a lot of money? No problem. Want to buy a necklace for your friends, mom and sister? No problem. Finally, each purchase comes with a Domestic Violence Resource Guide. Including informational material allows for further education about violence against women. It’s through resources such as this that awareness will grow and knowledge about the topic will increase. The key to taking a stand against an issue is to be informed; the Empowerment Circle of Support Necklace enables women (and men) the means to do this.
