Gold Metallic: Chadwick Bell

Leather: Leather was featured in most collections again this year. As we all know it was a main feature of last year’s Autumn/Winter trend and this year its back. Leather will mostly appear in coats, dresses and tops and will appear in colours such as plum, midnight blue and burnt orange! Leather was featured in Alexander Wang, Jill Stuart, DKNY, Derek Lam and Blanc de Chine.

Metallic: Metallic was huge in the shows this year, especially in gold and bronze. Metallic will come in the form of skirts, dresses, coats and detailing on prints. It was featured in nearly every show but mainly in Badgley Mischka and Chadwick Bell.

Monochrome: Monochrome popped up again in coats, trousers and dresses. It was featured in Oscar de la Renta in baroque jewel patterns. It was also the main theme for 3.1 Philip Lim.

Sorbet Pink and cotton candy colours were featured in some collections. From pretty vintage dresses, pussybow blouses and swing dresses, sorbet brightened up the catwalk. Rodarte and Oscar de la Renta were the main designers doing the trend.

Embellishment: Jenny Packham

Florals:Very unusual for Autumn/Winter but they did appear in almost every collection. The print was featured in more neutral colours such as cream, beige and pale green and in a very vintage design. It was also featured on leather! Rachel Zoe, Nicole Miller and Jill Stuart had a floral theme to their collection.

Velvet: Get excited for velvet suits this Autumn Winter. Velvet popped up in midnight blue, coal black and plum. Velvet also appeared on dresses and detailing on blazers. Rachel Zoe featured velvet most.

Embellishment: Embellishment glittered the runway at New York Fashion Week. It was featured on most evening wear and brightened up little black dresses.  Jenny Packham and Badgley Mischka had loads of embellishment in their collections this year.
