Beauty Box: Zoya Nail Polish

In the over-saturated world of nail polish, it’s hard for a company to set itself apart from other brands. Zoya Nail Polish differentiates itself from brands like Butter, OPI, and Essie by being one of the few nail polish companies who exclude harmful ingredients such as toluene, formaldehyde, DBP, and Camphor. While it’s likely that there are other brands that can boast about having a more natural product, Zoya takes the cake my offering a color selection that rivals other big name brands.

Through my Birchbox subscription, I have received several Zoya polishes and what I always love about them is their unique colors. They are always very vibrant and don’t require several strokes to reach a solid color. They are always coming out with new selections and I have yet to see a color that I don’t like. Because of this selection, it frustrates me that almost 70% of the time I paint my nails with one of their polishes, I get those little air bubbles that are so very unattractive. I’m sure this has something to do with the fact it has more natural ingredients, so it’s not a large price to pay for your health, but still very annoying! Because it doesn’t happen every time, I’m sure it has to do with my being too eager to paint my nails quickly. So my tip when using this polish is that, if you’re going to apply multiple coats, wait at least 15 minutes between application, otherwise you’ll get those annoying bumps and have to start all over!
