Beauty Box: Stainiac Lip/Cheek Stain

Carbonites, I have a confession to make. I think I’m in love. At least my rosy cheeks and lush red lips seem to be a sign of the first hints of love. Or maybe that’s just my amazing new lip and cheek stain working the way it’s supposed to!

Ever since lip/cheek stains were introduced to the beauty world, I’ve wanted to try them. I was intrigued by the idea of using a liquid as blush and having lips the were lipstick-less and yet tinted. However, the price of stains always seemed more expensive than I was willing to buy, especially because I didn’t know if I would like it. I finally got a sample stain, theBalm’s “Stainiac,” in my Birchbox this month, and now I know what I’ve been missing out on.

You apply the stain to your lips as you’d apply any lip gloss and you apply it to your (bare) cheeks by dotting it on and rubbing it in. The color is instantaneous, which is helpful so you don’t overdo it. What I love most about it is that you can apply makeup, like powdered foundation or lip gloss, over the stain and the color still stays vivid. The color on your cheeks gives you that glow from within look and the color on your lips looks very natural. Plus the color is incredibly long-lasting. I ate an apple soon after applying the stain, and the color didn’t budge at all! In fact, I think it would be a perfect addition to our Snow White and the Huntsman Character Wear set!

Though the stain isn’t the cheapest beauty product for lips and cheeks, I highly recommend it. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to powder blush! Plus it’s so long-lasting that you would probably save money by never having to reapply in a day!
