Fashion News: Minnie Mouse to Show at London Fashion Week

Disney Icon, Minnie Mouse, is set to appear on the runway at London Fashion Week this fall. Many designers such as Richard Nicoll, Katie Hillier, Giles Deacon, Michael van der Ham, and Lulu Guinness are going to create one-off pieces inspired by the Disney character’s style. The designs are set to show at London Fashion Week in September 2012 before going on to be auctioned off on eBay for the charity Arts Foundation, which is a foundation that aims to promote and nurture relationships between the fashion, film, music and art worlds. There are also plans for a Disney Beauty Collection although this has yet to be confirmed.

“Minnie Mouse and her unique style continue to inspire fans across the world,” said The Walt Disney Company Fashion and Home Vice President, Marc Low. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with such visionaries to create these one-off designs. Surpassing trends, Minnie Mouse’s iconic silhouette, signature bows and polka dots always remain in style, which is why she is as relevant today as the day she first appeared on the fashion scene. London Fashion Week is the perfect stage for Disney, one of the world’s largest apparel brands, to put a spotlight on Minnie Mouse.”

I think that these collection will be very interesting and I can’t wait to see what the designers come up with. Bringing Disney and fashion together is a great idea in my opinion! I look forward to LFW.
