Designer Spotlight: Compassion Couture

I recently got the chance to interview Jill and Tracey, the owners and founders of Compassion Couture, an online store that features only cruelty-free and eco-friendly accessories.  I get to research and write about eco-friendly designers and companies all the time, but getting the opportunity to get to know the founders and getting to hear, in their own words, what their business is all about was just plain awesome.

Once Upon A Time . . .

Two sisters who love fashion were sick of coming up empty-handed when it came to cruelty-free, eco-friendly accessories.  So, they decided to start their own business—an e-boutique that brings together the best and brightest of eco-friendly accessories like handbags, boots, clutches, belts and more.  Sisters Jill and Tracey had a vision and Compassion Couture, an e-boutique based out of New York, was born.

“I wanted to create a place that I would want to shop at”.

Jill and Tracey are doing what they love and their shared passion has been the key to their dedication and success.

“[Working together] was the easiest decision of them all – Jill and I had been talking for years about wanting to start up a business together.  We both always wanted something we could call our own.  So once the idea was born, that was it – we took the plunge”.

Compassion Couture is about shopping with purpose.  Fashionable and eco-friendly don’t have to be mutually exclusive.  Girls who shop Compassion Couture know this and aren’t willing to settle or compromise their beliefs.  A Compassion Couture lover is my kind of girl.

“She is smart, savvy and has a strong set of values.  She is passionate about fashion, loves keeping up with the latest trends, but she also has her own unique sense of style”.

 –Jill, Compassion, Couture

“I definitely feel that the cruelty-free and eco-friendly market is something that everyone can enjoy!  Part of our mission is to show everyday consumers just how fashionable and high-quality cruelty-free and eco-friendly handbags, shoes and accessories are.  With an ever-expanding number of new designers in this category, there is no longer a need to buy products made of leather or harmful to the environment”.

 My thoughts exactly.
