Character Wear: Tori Vega

This week I was visiting with a family friend and her kids, so I thought I’d ask her daughter, Liv, who I should write about for my column.  There were several options for me to choose from, because she has a lot of favorite characters, but the winner was Tori Vega, from the Nickelodeon show Victorious.  Tori is a young singer with a fantastic voice, a hopeful view of the world, a slightly sarcastic sense of humor, and a heart of gold.

Her style is streamlined, youthful, and a little bit rock chic.  To dress like Tori, you absolutely need a pair of skinny jeans, the lighter the better; go as light as you feel comfortable.  Next you need a flowy top.  Any color will work, but I chose a cream top to keep with the classic feel, but add a bit of color.  A cropped leather jacket and some cut out peep toe booties add that rock vibe that Tori has.  Her jewellery is edgy too.  A multi-chained silver necklace and some gold hoops are the perfect accessories.  Put waves in your hair and some pink gloss on your lips and you’re ready to go.  When you go out, try to be sweet and confident, and (since this is a Nickelodeon show I thought I’d end with something cheesy), sing your heart’s song, just like Tori!
