Character Wear: Alexis Castle

One of my favourite shows on television is Castle.  This show reminds me of older, funny, detective shows, but it still has it’s modern relationships and aspects. The meshing of these two opposites is wonderful.  The sweetest character on this show is Alexis Castle, the teenage daughter of funny man, player, and secret family man Rick Castle, played by the equally funny Nathan Fillion.  This character has really evolved throughout the time of the show, and is continuing to evolve.  She started out as a naive, girly, and incredibly studious goofball, but she has quickly grown into a mature, wise, precocious adult, but continues to be very studious and kind.  I always look forward to the parts of the show with Alexis.

To dress like Alexis, try to be a little preppy, but a little quirky as well. I love the sweater she is wearing in this picture.  The argyle is super preppy, but the striped back shows her quirkier, more precocious side.  And like the show she’s on, these two opposites mesh amazingly.  I tried to find a similar sweater, just to demonstrate the idea of two different patterns working well together.  Dark wash skinny jeans don’t stand out, allowing the unique sweater to shine.  Some brightly colored ballet flats remind us that she’s still young, even if she dresses smart normally.  Add a gold disc pendant and simple gold headband to add an air of sophistication to the outfit, and some pink lip gloss adds a bit of shine.  Alexis is so sweet and kind, even if she’s a little cheeky at times. Try to have her attitude towards life when you dress like her, it can only lead to good things!
