The Style Guru: Warm Your Spring Clothes Up

The temperatures are still dropping but that hasn’t stopped skimpy spring clothes from making their way to the stores.  If you are anything like me, you’re eager to leave your tights behind and wear your new flowery dress from Topshop.   With a few clever layering ideas, your winter outfits will make an easy transition into your spring wardrobe.   There are few things in the world that make us feel as lovely as springtime clothes do. We really need to get that feeling back while we’re in the depths of winter. It’s not the time to go out without turtlenecks, leggings or vests.  You can add all of these essentials to your spring wardrobe.

Mix up your winter clothes with new items for spring. Brighten up a plain, black dress with flowers or block colours. Dainty summer clothes can look cute mixed with hats, chunky knits and scarves.

Your sheer, draped dress can be dressed down with a few, casual layers.  Swap a wooly hat for a trilby and rock it up with some sophisticated boots.  Don’t forget your tights.

I love layering a flowery dress with a cozy knit cardigan.  You can wear a t-shirt over or under it. Ear muffs and snoods keep a lot of body heat in.
