Beauty Box: Benta Berry G-1 Moisturizing Face Cream

I have a serious aversion to dry skin and a face like the Arizona desert, so I’m always on the hunt for a super moisturizing face cream that will quench my skin but won’t make me break out. Initially when I received a sample of Benta Berry G-1 Moisturizing Face Cream in my Birchbox, I thought I’d finally found the solution to my dry skin woes.

The lotion is super thick, smells great, and a little bit of it goes a long way. It didn’t make my face break out and it made my skin feel slightly greasy, which I actually liked because it meant it wasn’t dry! In fact, I loved the product so much that it became my first full-size purchase from Birchbox. I even had to be put on a wait list for it because it was apparently a best-seller and I couldn’t buy it from any other site because it’s made in France (O la la!) and shipping was ridiculous.

However, once I got it in the mail and started using it regularly, I found it to be less than ideal. The lotion has a weird tendency to get really filmy on your face. After applying it, I noticed that I could rub my face with my finger and the lotion would bunch up and peel off. Super gross. And if it’s rubbing off, it’s obviously not doing it’s job of keeping my skin’s arid climate at bay. Needless to say, I’m still on the hunt for the perfect lotion and I will keep you Carbonites in on the adventure to moisturized skin with me!
