The Style Guru: Fashionable Festival Wear

As we enter another round of music festivals, it can make a girl want to strip down to her roots and embrace her inner hippy. Unfortunately, most of us unlucky ducks didn’t quite make it to Coachella and are still dealing with all the leftover longing for pretty festival gear.
Well, we are in luck. What with all the raging festivals popping up, why not get in the spirit and be as free as a bird? However, we likely will need to dress warmer than those roasting out in the dessert of California, but there is more to festival attire than a pair of cut-offs and a tube top. Here are a few different looks to kick start your festival attire roundup:
1) 90’s Denim: There are different ways to wear denim, depending on your style. Pair with a flowy floral top or lace for a girly “free” feel. Or for a grunge look, pair with a vintage tee and distressed jeans or DIY cutoffs. To take your denim to another level, try “dip-dying”, its cheap and easy, and sure to turn a few heads.
2) Bohemian or the “Hippie” look: We all know this look quite well, but it never gets old. If you’re not into skirts, maybe try a good pair of bell bottoms, if the forecast looks like rain, maybe stay away from heavy denim and stuff a good pair of lace or chiffon 60s pant into your knapsack. To pull the look together be sure to layer up the bling, accessorize, accessorize, accessorize.
3) The Print: What better way to stand out than bold designs and colours. This season is full of fun patterns, whether it be tribal, geometric or excessive floral’s, don’t be afraid to mix and match. Have fun, be a bit crazy, in a sea of fashionistas rocking out you can go the extra mile.
