The Style Guru: Tropical Print

 

I recently styled a photo shoot based around tropical floral print. I love the fun you can have when mixing print and color together. If you are a color fiend like me, you will love this trend!

On a recent shopping trip, the window displays had me longing for a Hawaiian cruise. Tropical prints are everywhere and I just want to dress myself head to toe in them. With the bold print and bright color, this look can be a little intimidating. Most stores that I’ve been to have had matching blouses and skirts designed to be worn together. You can then pair the outfit with either bright or neutral shoes and accessories, depending on the boldness of the outfit/your personality. If you do feel confident enough to mix up your floral pieces, keep them all in the same hue. Don’t wear pink and orange flowery pants mixed with a top that has a completely different color palette. If you want a more subtle style, either for work or because you dress more demurely, match a floral skirt with a plain top or introduce tropical accessories with a plain, brightly colored dress.
