Conscious Fashion: Puppy Mills are for Squares

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is an organization I’ve supported for a while.  Their aggressive stance against animal abuse and their support for and network of animal shelters around the nation is inspirational to me.  It’s also close to my heart, since all my pets are rescues.  (Rescues always have the most quirky personalities!  And mutts are the cutest!)  I am always impressed by their creative fundraising techniques and their latest is no exception.  The proceeds from these anti-puppy mill t-shirts go to support anti-puppy mill legislation and to petition to punish more harshly those who run puppy mills.  They’re simple and pretty clever.  (Way better than those bumper stickers with the little boy peeing on this or that!)  For a Fashionista-worthy look, pair it with skinny jeans and Converse, or tuck it into highwaisted shorts and wear a colored cardigan over it.

Also, if you ‘like’ ASPCA on Facebook,  you get updates about animal cruelty in the news and inspiration stories about pets saved from cruelty, along with funny pet photo contests and funny pet videos.  This story about Binny the hamster is my favorite! It’s the highlight of my day!
