Foreign Friday: Roman Holiday

Hello Rome! We took a Roman Holiday (who else loves that movie?!) and had a glorious time. I gave my best statue pose above.

Rome was the first city we visited that was quite warm. Most of my outfits bared my legs and arms to help trek about in the heat. The look above has been deemed the “Watermelon Outfit” from this day forward.

A few things that you’ll absolutely need for comfortable travel in Rome are:

A pair of sunglasses! I love Ray-Ban Wayfarers. $145

Sunscreen. Ocean Potion is my absolute favorite brand! All of their sunscreens smell wonderful and work amazingly. I didn’t see this brand abroad, so be sure to pack a bottle in your checked bag. It’s much better to bring some from home because sunscreen in Europe retails for about 13 euros a bottle- and that’s the cheap kind.

A cross-body top zip bag. Rome was one of the cities that I clutched onto my bag for dear life in fear of pickpockets. I was thankful that I was carrying a similar bag to the one pictured above and never had anything stolen. Still though, it pays to be conscious of your belongings while in busy cities, a bag like this will definitely help! $42 at Urban Outfitters.

A breezy crop-top. I found that tops like these were the most comfortable for walking around in the sun. They allow air to flow through and let your skin breathe all the while looking stylish. $29 at American Apparel.
