Conscious Fashion: Conscious Closet & 30 for 30 by Kendi

This Conscious Closet special was inspired by a quirky blogger named Kendi.  A friend turned me onto her style blog and I’m quickly falling for her.  She has a realistic personality but she also has big dreams and she has a great sense of humor.  The About Me on her blog is “People think that when you get married and move to a small town you should get pregnant.  I started a blog.  (It’s a girl)”  SO clever.

Kendi does a wonderful little project periodically called 30 for 30.  The idea is that she takes 30 pieces from her wardrobe and creates 30 outfits.  It’s kind of closet therapy; it shows what items from your wardrobe you actually use and what items you actually don’t.  Hopefully at the end of your 30 days, you will be able to give a hefty bunch of items to your local thrift store.  If 30 for 30 sounds kind of intimidating, try a 10 for 10.

I think the 30 for 30 aligns with the vision of Conscious Fashion well because it’s all about using what you have and not just buying things you don’t need because you can’t wrap your head around your closet.  Especially with the change in season coming up, I think we could all use a re-training of our closets.
