Linked to Fashion: Winter Trends

Fall has quickly turned into winter in my neck of the woods! College Gloss shows us what this winter’s trends are in “Casual Sophistication: Trends for this Winter.” The warm colors of the fall will translate over into the winter season also. Think warm colors like reds, oranges, yellows and browns. There will be some romantic styles this winter with some sheers,  silk fabric, and more fur! “It’s only natural that we’re drawn to material that makes us feel comfortable and incredibly stylish at the same time.”

You can’t go into winter without the proper stylish outerwear; trench coats, parkas, capes and pea coats! Pair with a warm, colorful scarf! Designers are said to be focusing on “comfy, soft, and warm” this winter season! Be sure to add some zigzag patterns (Missoni style) to show a little contrast to an outfit.

H&M put out a video that shares their idea of this winters trends which include styles that are “easy to wear” and “not overly girly.” There will be some influences from the ’60s and ’70s with bright colors and a lot of color blocking. The head of design at H&M, Ann-Sofie Johansson, says the three key items for this season are a pair of nice cropped slack or wide leg trousers, a blazer and a warm wool coat or parka. Have fun this winter mixing and matching different patterns, styles, and fabrics!
