Character Wear: Blaine Anderson

Glee showcases so many different characters that everyone has a different favorite.  My personal favorite is the fashionable crooner with a voice and a smile that could charm even the iciest of hearts; Blaine Anderson.  Not only is this character a top notch performer, but he’s also breaking TV barriers as one half of the controversial gay couple affectionately known in the Glee fandom as “Klaine”, whose other half is the even more fashionable, equally talented Kurt.  Since I adore Blaine so much, this week I’m going to update his signature style for you all.

Blaine is a prep school student at heart, and that is how we first met him.  Even though he’s no longer required to wear a uniform, his looks are still preppy and classic.  Let’s start at the bottom and work our way up.  He is almost always seen in boat shoes or loafers, unless in costume.  Characterize this with a pair of gray, high heeled loafers, complete with tassels.  His pants are always cropped just above the ankles.  Usually they are a fun color or pattern as well.  His shirts are usually patterned in some way, and fitted.  He favors stripes or plaid the most when wearing shirts and his sweaters tend to have a funky, fashion forward pattern. I’ve chosen to show a fitted striped knit top that goes well with the pink capris.  Lastly, one of Blaine’s fashion staples is a bright, patterned bowtie.  To get this look without learning how to tie a tie, I used a bright purple bow tie necklace.  Try to find a similar one with a long chain.  Give yourself a preppy side part, swipe on some barely-there pink lip gloss, grab your bow tie purse and you’re ready to go.  When you’re dressed like Blaine, try to embody not only his sense of style, but also his easy charm and friendliness, and you’ll feel like a star all day!
