Character Wear: Divya Katdare

With the winter season definitely here, everyone is wearing coats and boots to keep away the cold,  so this week’s column is going to be about a girl who is known for her chic fashions in the glorious, warm, summer in the Hamptons, to remind you it will get warm again!  Divya Katdare is the determined, ambitious young physician’s assistant in the USA Network show Royal Pains. She is a very practical person, who is extremely smart and quick-thinking.  She follows her own path, but tries to please her strict, traditional, upper class parents when she can.  She broke the mold and became an assistant to Hank (the doctor) and Evan (the CFO), the stars of the show.  She also disobeyed her parents’ wishes when she refused to marry Raj, the man she was destined to marry since she was very young.  Despite all the struggles that no-nonsense Divya has to deal with, she is still friendly, calming, and lovable.

Divya’s style is, essentially, very fashionable beach wear.  Working in the Hamptons during spring and summer, she has to look the part if she is to impress the affluent clientele that HankMed caters to.  Her clothes must match their style, while still reflecting her own style.  She wears strappy sandals, usually in a light brown or beige color with some embellishment.  Her most common pant style is the white short or white cropped pant.  Wear a sparkly gold top that is breezy and flowy.  A chunky statement necklace and a fierce faux snakeskin bag will finish off the look.  Divya is a lesson in contradiction.  Her style is high class, but still breezy and loose, she is practical, but often breaks the rules, and she is tough, yet friendly and loving.  When you dress like her, embrace those qualities! And then hop on the nearest plane to the Hamptons and live it up!
