Character Wear: Dallas Royce

One of the highest rated new comedies on TV is the Wednesday show Suburgatory.  There are a lot of really cool, awkward, and funny characters on this show (my favorite is Firefly alum Alan Tudyk).  One of the most interesting characters is Dallas Royce, glamorous housewife, mother, and budding entrepreneur.  She is legitimately one of the kindest, sweetest people in TV history and she is sort of rediscovering herself, living for herself again.

Her style is very “East Coast upper class”.  Her wardrobe is mildly inappropriate for every day, but better to be dressed for a cocktail party all the time, than dressed in ratty sweats!  If you dress like Dallas, then save it for a more special occasion than going shopping with your girlfriends.  Dallas favors short-ish dresses with one shoulder.  A fun pattern would be best as well; Dallas is loud and her clothes should be loud too.  Glam jewelry is a necessity! An embellished pearl necklace and gold bangles work well.  Dallas is never in flats or sneakers unless she’s exercising, so chunky, bright heels are the norm.  Put fun and flirty make up on, maybe pink lipstick, and don’t forget to smile, and you’ll be just like Dallas! Trying to be as kind as she is, even just one day a week is an admirable goal, but aim for being just as nice everyday and you’ll be as popular and loved as she is on the show!
