Beauty Box: Crest 3D White 2-Hour Express Dental Whitening Kit

As an avid, definitely addicted, coffee drinker, my teeth take quite a beating when it comes to discoloration. Combine that with my love for red wine, and I’m probably just a few years away from looking like I don’t have access to a toothbrush. Thus, whitening strips are a bit of a savior to me. I’ve tried several variations of them. The kind that dissolve, the kind that you only have to use twice a day for a week, both trays and strips. However, as much as I love the whitened effect they have on my teeth, I always hate to use them. The dissolving ones make me feel that by swallowing  much of the remnants of the strip, I’ll end up getting cancer. The tray-like strips I hate because they always set off my gag reflex, so it’s difficult to keep them in for the allotted time.  So when my sister lent me one of her Crest 3D White 2-Hour Express Dental strips, I was eager to see if this would be the whitening strip for me.

The first thing that pleased me about the strip was that it was exactly that, just a thin layer of film that you gently press onto your teeth. I was relieved to see this considering you have to have the strip on your teeth for a whole 2 hours, and I knew my gag reflex would not stand for that.

Secondly, I loved that it was easy to apply. My teeth are a bit crooked and I find that some strips don’t cover all of my teeth evenly, especially the more tray-like ones. Since it was super thin, the strip easily covered all the bumps and crevasses of my dental landscape.

To distract me from the fact I had the strip on, I put on The Bachelor and imagined my teeth being as white as all the crazy bachelorettes’. I barely noticed it was there, and I was even able to still communicate with my sister while I had it on. After the 2 hours, it was a little difficult to pull off my teeth, but once I rinsed up, I noticed a considerable difference. My teeth were much whiter, maybe even white enough to catch bachelor Ben’s eye.

The one negative that I did experience was the sensitivity I experienced the following day. My teeth just felt weird, and eating and drinking made them slightly uncomfortable. However, the feeling only last for one day and the white teeth have lasted for 3 weeks so far. This is a product I’d definitely recommend for those hoping to obtain a brighter smile.
