Beauty Box: OPI’s “I’m Not Really a Waitress” Polish

I’m not much a nail polish snob. I don’t only buy specific brands and my choices of nail polish usually have to do solely with the color and how many layers I have to apply to get the right look. I don’t like applying more than two layers because I feel like it looks too thick and chips too easily. I typically change up my nail polish once a week, so I’m always rocking different colors and designs. However, one color I don’t sport too often is red. This is both because I feel like red nail polish is done too often and because I’ve struggled to find the exact shade of red for my tastes.

However, a few weeks ago I was forced to go for the crimson shade because I had an upcoming job interview, and red is the go-to color for job interviews. Luckily, my friend Andrea had several colors for me to choose from, and the one that caught my eye was titled, “I’m Not Really a Waitress” by OPI. I thought this was both funny and telling, because if I didn’t get the job, I would have to become a waitress.

It’s the perfect shade, not too bright, not too dark, and with just a hint of sparkle. I only had to apply two layers, so it made my thickness quota, and it looked lovely. Plus, I think it may have given me an extra bit of luck in the interview, because I ended up getting the job! If you’ve got an interview coming up, I suggest using this color to impress your way into your new job.
