Beauty Box: L’Oreal Sublime Mousse

I’ve been coloring my hair since I was in middle school. First it started out as simple blonde streaks that lightened up my already blonde hair. Then it was an all-over blonder color once high school began. When I went through my “artsy” phase, my hair was sporting all the colors of the rainbow, changing from blue to purple to pink. During college while trying to find myself, it was altered to a brown, then chestnut, to strawberry, back to blonde again, and then practically black. Currently my hair is a dark reddish brown but who knows when I’ll decide to change it up again. Because of my tendency to change my hair shade, hair dye is something I am very familiar with. For the big changes, I make sure to go to a professional so I don’t cause my hair to fall out. However, when I need to just touch up my roots, I save money and do it myself. Yet hair dye is not something easily done on one’s own and if I didn’t enlist the help of friends and sisters over the years, I would’ve always ended up with splotchy spots rather than a sleek all-over-color. But because there isn’t always someone around to help out with the process, I have come to love a new kind of dye on the market.

Mousse hair dye is something that hit the market only about a year ago, and because I’m always curious about new beauty products, I decided to try it. Only a few hair dye brands currently feature this type of dye, so I went with the L’Oreal one because it was more familiar to me. I tried it out solo and discovered that the mousse was much easier to use than a traditional creme dye. You can use it just like a shampoo which makes it much easier to be sure you’re hitting every strand, even the ones in the back that are hard to see. Other than its texture, foam dye is like every other home dye on the market. I found that the color lasts just as long and is just as vibrant as other dyes. I would definitely recommend this product to those that color their own hair a lot as it is incredibly easy to use without enlisting anyone’s help.
