Character Wear: Amanda Vaughn

A new show that my mom and I have started watching recently, and are LOVING, is GCB.  GCB stands for Good Christian Belles, but the women of this show are anything but! The show revolves around former Dallas mean girl Amanda Vaughn, who has grown up, become nice, and been knocked down by life a few times.  Her husband stole money from a lot of people in a Ponzi scheme, and then crashed his car while trying to make a getaway with all of Amanda’s money and her best friend.  This girl that made California her home is forced to move back to Dallas, even though her style and attitude remain full of California whimsy.

Throughout the first three episodes she usually wears her ‘California’ clothes, with some Dallas thrown in every now and again. Her clothes are always in light neutral colors or pastels; lots of creams, taupes, super pale lavenders, and whites.  She is often seen in either lightwash jeans or a maxi skirt with a fun detail like a slit or ruffles.  Her top is long sleeved and fitted.  She wears a thick brown belt and sandals.  Jewelry is minimal, but bright colors give the outfit a little contrast, like these teal drop earrings. Amanda is a strong woman, who has changed her life around a few times and is kind, tough, and beautiful.  When you dress like her, act as she would, and you’ll win over anyone!
