Character Wear: Doctor Zoe Hart

One of my favorite new shows has come back recently after a long, or long to me anyway, hiatus, and I am so glad because I love Hart of Dixie! In honor of its return, this week I’m profiling Dr. Zoe Hart, one of the most fashionable characters on TV currently.  Zoe Hart, Doctor Zoe Hart as she always tells everyone, is a big city girl stuck in the small, small town of Bluebell, Alabama and spends the show trying to make the best of it and trying to hold onto the medical practice she inherited.  She is kind, yet sarcastic, no nonsense, incredibly smart, and ever so slightly awkward, and overall incredibly endearing. Her fashion sense is just as amazing as her personality.  It’s mostly NYC, but every now and again a bit of Bluebell slips in subtly.

To start off this outfit, I looked for a soft fabric with polka dots on it.  Her tops are usually very different from each other, so I just picked one outfit to focus on.  Zoe Hart does favor shorts on the TV show, as it is very hot down in the South! I chose to use a pair of classy lace shorts, which make the whole outfit more elegant and business appropriate.  A loose black blazer also adds to the professionalism of the outfit.  Some vibrant pumps give a fun quirk to the whole look, while a small silver flower is a tiny homage to Bluebell, the town where Zoe lives.  I tried to keep the whole look beautiful rather than cute, and this structured bag helps a lot, as does the light lipstick and classic perfume, Chanel No. 5.  This coffee-loving fashionista is one of my favorite TV characters, and I can’t wait to see where the storyline takes her next! I hope that when you dress like her, you also embrace her organized kindness and empathy, which is part of what makes her a great doctor.  Good luck, and I know you’ll find clothes just as cute as hers!
