Character Wear: Black Widow

Calling all Superheros! There’s a war out there, a fashion war, and I’m here with Carbon Magazine, saving one fashion victim at a time.  Some might say I’m a hero but there’s no hero like Black Widow played by the tantalizing Scarlett Johansson in this week’s box office hit, The Avengers. This butt-kicking babe explodes onto screen, teaming up with fellow Avengers in order to defeat Loki and his army, saving the world from complete destruction.  Along with saving the world, Black Widow helps me demonstrate how to create a kick-butt outfit for all those powerful women out there!

Black Widow is seen in a sultry, sleek black jumpsuit matching her smooth seductive ways.  Her fiery red hair contrasts her ensemble without stealing the spotlight from her ninja-like attire.  To adapt this outfit into an everyday look start with a simple pair of black skinny jeans.  Try a high-waisted pair to lengthen your legs and emphasize your waistline. A tank on top with an Avengers graphic is perfect to tie this outfit back to the movie, but any contrasting tank-top would work here. Next, layer a black leather motorcycle vest to keep Black Widow’s girl-power appeal, and show them who’s boss with a pair of bold, biker boots.  No Superhero’s outfit is complete without a few gadgets and no fashionistas outfit is complete without some eye-catching accessories, so add a red belt for an essential focal point.  Urban Outfitters has an interesting ear chain that will give you individuality points to add to your Black Widow ensemble.  Finally add a studded wrap bracelet to top off this superheroes super look.  So assemble fashionistas!
