Beauty Box: Limited Edition Maybelline Great Lash Colored Mascara

I typically stick to the same general makeup look everyday. BB cream, a dash of blush, eyeliner and mascara. This keep my look simple and quick, meaning I get to sleep in more every morning. However, I do get bored of the same old look day after day, so I like to experiment when I go out at night or when I have extra time before leaving the house. So when I saw that Maybelline was releasing a limited edition line of colored mascaras, I was excited to be able to stick to my simple routine while at the same time getting to rock a different look.

The colors available are blue, green, teal and purple. Nothing too crazy, but still a hint of punk rock. I decided to go with the purple because I figured it would make my green eyes pop. Unfortunately, this mascara was a bit of a let down. The purple wasn’t very vibrant, so when I put it on, it didn’t look much different than my typical black mascara. This might have a lot to do with the fact that my lashes are naturally dark, because the purple did stand out a little more on the tips of my lashes, which are blonder. Overall, the color wasn’t that noticeable, so I guess if you just wanted a really subtle change, you might like to try this. I was hoping for much more of a pop and was definitely let down.
