Character Wear: Wednesday Addams

October is officially underway and the nagging reminders that Halloween is almost here are inescapable. For someone like me, who loves all things scary and weird, I get a thrill every time I see an ad for Halloween costumes, when I pass a pumpkin patch, and when I see skeletons hanging out on people’s porches. Part of me wishes that Halloween didn’t land on just one day a year, and the excitement leading up to the holiday makes it feel like it’s a month-long celebration. However, that doesn’t mean I can dress in 31 different costumes for each day of the month without people thinking I’m a freak. Luckily for me, there are other ways to wear my Halloween pride throughout the month with out dressing as a “Sexy [insert literally anything here]” every day.

A great way to bring out your inner goth during the month of October is to take some cues from Wednesday Addams. Always dressed in all black with a “I don’t give a f***” attitude, this girl is so chic and she doesn’t even know it. Make the look more wearable and grown up by trading in the pigtails for a messy fishtail braid and wearing heeled booties instead of Mary Jane’s.
