Kingsley’s Corner: Karl Comes to Town

To my fans: I know many of you all remember Karl! Karl was like my brother when I lived with my ex-parents. We’re not blood related, but I’d say we got along pretty well. Anyway, it had been a while since I saw him last. Then I heard that he might be coming to visit! You know when you live with your family for a long time and then eventually they come to visit you after you’ve moved and it feels a lot different? It feels like they shouldn’t have to act like guests but they still are in a way.  I’m sure you guys can relate. Here’s a story about Karl visiting me at my new place.

It was about the time of my birthday when my old roommate, Karl decided to come and visit me. Karl was my roommate at my old parent’s house. He was a pretty cool cat too. He has white and black fur and green eyes. Brittany said his fur looked like cow print. How funny is that? I didn’t know how long he was going to be staying here, but it was good to see him walk through the door. For the first couple of days, Karl and I got a along well just like old times. We shared my food bowl, my litter box, and we lounged on the couch together. Then, I was starting to think Karl was making himself a little too at-home. It had only been a couple months since I moved in with my new moms and I was just getting settled in. I started to get upset when Karl starting finishing off the food bowl, and cutting in front of me for the litter box. He even took over the couch. Karl was also getting a lot of attention. I missed the attention I used to get. I hated being compared to Karl. Fortunately, Karl sheds a lot of really long white hairs everywhere. Hil and Brit didn’t pick up Karl as much because they didn’t want white hair all over their outfit. Even then, Karl still had most of the spotlight. After a few days of letting Karl take over our shared space, I heard that he was getting picked up by his grandma in a couple days. Hil and Brit packed up his stuff and off Karl went. It was really nice to have my own bathroom again along with my food bowl and the couch area, but I have to admit that I’ll still miss seeing Karl’s face.
