Kingsley’s Corner: My Hips Don’t Lie

Kingsley’s Corner: My Hips Don’t Lie
In case you all didn’t know, I am a short-haired cat but I have a ton of hair!
(Sorry guys, I know it sheds everywhere sometimes! :/) Even though it is short, I still seem to have a lot of problems with it (not necessarily with it shedding). I’ve already told you guys about my brazilian and my every-so-often matted fur, but now I have another story to share about my lovely mane.
So first off, a few details about my mane. It’s shiny and grey (as seen in my self-portraits!). It’s short and fluffy, and unfortunately my fur sometimes attracts leaves and other stuff from outside. One more thing, my hair can grow a little wildly. I mean, imagine me without a brazilian. My hair tends to grow out sort of like wings around my neck, under my armpits and of course my butt. I guess I must be pretty lucky to be blessed with so much hair! Anyway, I guess Hil and Brit noticed that my hair is a little darker grey along the top of my back and lighter on the sides. I know they were talking about getting me a full groom at the time which sounds great, minus the car ride. All I know is that I was minding my own business when I heard a snipping sound behind me.

I look back and Hilary is snipping at my ‘wings.’ I thought maybe it was just a mat or something but she kept snipping. I came to be a little confused but I didn’t really mind it. Well, the next thing I know is that I am nearly naked on my sides. She gave me a Mohawk?! I have to admit I felt a little insecure at first (just like anyone would with any new haircut), but later I found out that not only was it to help get rid of some fur (to help with the matting) but to try to make me look thinner! I wasn’t sure if I should be happy or embarrassed. If anything, I think it still showed that I had hips and belly. Especially when I walk, apparently my hips sway. After a little time went by, the choppiness smoothed out and I was starting to like this new Mohawk look. I guess it did slim me out a little, but I think this is how
everyone found out that my hair is really not that long. And yes, my hips still spill over the sides of people’s laps that I sit on. So no, my hips don’t lie and they are very well present.
