Conscious Fashion: Simple Shoes

Simple Shoes are Simply Fantastic

A friend of mine recently turned me on to a shoe store in Flagstaff, AZ whose shoes are made from recycled materials.  Their name is Simple Shoes and these guys use everything from recycled carpet, to recycled paper, even recycled tires.  They advertise as “your stereotypical, anti-stereotype brand”, and I have to say I agree.  I am as big a fan of wearing what you preach as the next conscious fashion blogger, but that doesn’t mean I want to dress like a hippy.  No offense, I love hippies (I have a cousin who is one).  Peace signs and tie-dye just don’t cut it for me some days.  So when I found these shoes, my preppy but eco-conscious self did a little cartwheel inside!  They don’t look like your hippy cousin’s sustainable shoes. (Love you, Kaylee!)  These shoes are stinkin’ CUTE.

And their website is pretty entertaining.  The homepage is shoes scrolling across the page accompanied by jokes and funny quotes, like this one:

“Shoes made from recycled material… like your dad’s jokes.”

Last but never least, their prices aren’t insane.  These are my favorite, hands-down.  The Take On Elastic style in “Snow White”.
