Conscious Fashion: Threads 4 Thought

Impacted by the tragic loss of life occurring in places such as Afghanistan and Darfur, Eric Fleet and his wife Leigh were inspired to develop a business that would engage consumers. Beginning as a small graphic tee and manufacturing business, Threads for Thought quickly grew into a complete line of men’s and women’s lifestyle apparel; it offers everything from summer tanks to winter outerwear.

All items are made from sustainable materials such as organic cotton or recycled water bottles (pretty cool stuff!). The clothing is also manufactured by factories that are committed to fair labor practices. The best part is that the clothing is not only environmentally friendly, its budget friendly; it’s like Christmas in June!

Threads for Thought

In addition to these sustainable business practices, Threads for Thought partners closely with notable charities such as the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC) and the International Rescue Committee (IRC). Threads for Thought provides these charities with financial support and even creates specific Shop the Cause products. A portion of proceeds from the cause collections are donated directly to these charities.

Whether you’re looking for wardrobe basics or hoping to add some flair, Threads for Thought has you covered. For simple pieces that are great for layering try the Tara Tank. To incorporate patterns into your summer look, try the Summer of Love Dress. A few other Carbon favorites are the Girl 2 Girl Heart Tee and the California Dreamin’ Top.
