Conscious Fashion: H2O Revamped

Growing up in Arizona, I’m no stranger to how important drinking water is. It was almost always hotter than Hades, and, hey, I needed to stay hydrated. Because of this, plastic water bottles used to be part of my regular routine. However, when the Nalgene craze of 2004 hit my high school, I started to realize that there might be a better alternative to plastic bottles.

Luckily, today we as consumers can take our pick from sustainable drinking options. In addition to reusable containers such as Nalgene, there’s a new company on the market called Aquapax (try saying that ten times fast).

Yes, Aquapax produces bottled water, but it is an eco-minded company. Aquapax delivers recyclable and sustainable containers; each 500 ml carton is made mostly from wood, which unlike plastic is a natural, renewable resource. In addition to being made from natural materials, the packages have a compact design which cuts down on waste and allows for easy storage. Aquapax also works closely with their supply chain partners to reduce their impact on the environment.

Now that we’ve talked about the outside, you might be wondering what’s on the inside. Don’t worry, the water is great too! The water inside each Aquapax carton is natural mineral water. The water is fresh, pure and has an almost perfect pH balance. If you’re looking for an easy beauty pick-me-up, start hydrating. Drinking the right amount of water will leave your skin feeling fresh and will help your body rid itself of excess toxins. Next time you reach for bottled water, do your body and the environment a favor and try Aquapax.
